Oakland Park Spec Home Upgrade

Client bought spec home and wanted to warm it up. So, we elevated the clinical, monotonous aesthetic by infusing natural elements and rich hues, such as wood, brick, and woven textures, board and batten, and accent walls, harmonized with deeper painted highlights and accent walls.

Custom Accent TV Wall

Designed to seamlessly blend rustic warmth with modern sophistication, this custom TV accent wall is the perfect fusion of the homeowners' distinct styles. After presenting multiple design concepts, this winning vision maintains harmony within the open-concept home.

To ensure a cohesive flow, I carried through the cabinet and island tones from the kitchen and dry bar. The floating flat-panel cabinetry along the bottom provides functional storage while keeping the design sleek and streamlined. Wood paneling strips and floating shelves add depth and character, with ambient and accent lighting for a warm, inviting glow.

A reclaimed mushroom wood beam spans overhead, featuring upper lighting that naturally draws the eye up while introducing a touch of rustic charm. This same stunning material was also used to craft a large beam over the sliders, seamlessly connecting the kitchen and dry bar, as well as a statement foyer entry beam, enhancing the home’s architectural flow.

For a dramatic yet refined effect, the back wall is painted Urbane Bronze, allowing the rich wood tones and lighting to take center stage. When the 85" TV is off, it blends effortlessly into the dark backdrop rather than dominating the space.

To complete the design, I selected a large woven natural light fixture, adding another layer of texture and organic beauty. The result is a one-of-a-kind feature wall that is both visually striking and effortlessly integrated into the home’s overall aesthetic.

Custom New Build

This kitchen blends rustic charm with modern sophistication, creating a warm and inviting space. The island, range hood, and coffee station are painted in Urbane Bronze, a rich, moody hue that adds depth (though the true color is hard to capture in photos). To maintain cohesion in the open-concept design, the same deep tones were carried into the TV wall and dry bar in the family room.
We used brass and black accents throughout the space. The Chantilly Quartzite island countertop is a true statement piece, featuring soft cream tones with with veining that beautifully ties into the accent cabinetry. The perimeter countertops and dry bar, in a warm black Cambria Quartz with delicate cream veining, complement the island’s light tones while adding rich contrast. A distressed cream tile backsplash serves as the perfect bridge, pulling in hues from both the island and perimeter, seamlessly blending the elements for a cohesive and thoughtfully layered design. Solid gray-washed alder wood cabinets provide ample storage while adding a natural, timeworn texture that enhances the rustic aesthetic. The result is a beautifully curated space where every detail works in harmony.

Modern Elegance

Designed with a bold and unique vision, this powder bath reflects the homeowner’s personal style through carefully curated details. A custom-made, backlit mirror serves as a statement piece, paired with distinctive accent lighting for ambiance and wood accent panels for added depth and impact. The floating, flat-paneled dark wood vanity offers sleek storage, while the opposite wall mirrors the design for a cohesive and immersive feel. A saturated wall color enhances the dramatic aesthetic, making this space a true showpiece.

Thoughtfully Curated Exterior

The final design brings together rich, earthy tones that compliment the surrounding trees and natural landscape. Pecky Cypress garage doors add warmth and texture, while wood accents on the front porch enhance the organic, inviting feel. Carefully chosen paint, trim, stone, and a sleek metal roof create a harmonious and timeless look. The result is a stunning exterior that feels seamlessly connected to its environment.

Primary Bath Renovation

We extended the shower, along with a wider opening. We also built-in a bench and hidden niche to add both comfort and functionality. The bulky built-in tub was replaced with a sleek, freestanding design, enhancing the room’s openness. To maximize storage, solid wood cabinetry, linen closet, and a mirrored medicine cabinet were incorporated, offering both style and organization.
The homeowners to bring blue into their space, so a beautifully textured blue porcelain tile accent wall was installed, adding depth and character. Large-format porcelain tiles on the floors and side walls create a seamless, sophisticated look, while warm wood tones and woven window treatments bring natural texture and balance to the space. The result is a bright, inviting retreat that feels both fresh and serene.
